<h2>Job Description</h2><div><div><b>About the Role:</b><br><br><b>Grade Level (for internal use):</b><br />10 <br><br><b>S&P Global Corporate</b><br><br><b>The Role: </b>UK Financial Accountant <br><br>This rolesupports the EMEA Controllers organization with UK and other jurisdictions managed out of the London office, to ensure that the accounting operations are timely and accurately reported and that local statutory and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) requirements are adhered to, in addition to supporting enterprise-wide initiatives. <br><br><b>The Team: </b>Reporting to the Associate Director - Financial Accounting, you are part of the EMEA Enterprise Controllership Leadership team, which is a team of 29, responsible for managing the accounting operations in the region and supporting the Company's accounting and finance activities. The global Controllers organization is a team of 300+ globally. <br><br><b>Responsibilities: </b><ul><li>Analyze key balance sheet and P&L accounts; prepare and post associated journals.</li><li>Support month-end processes, including journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.</li><li>Prepare and post payroll journals, reconciliations, including necessary accruals.</li><li>Allocate monthly intercompany cross charges related to Payroll Benefits.</li><li>Analyze monthly financial reports and present findings to the board quarterly.</li><li>Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.</li><li>Prepare financial statements for legal entities per FRS/IFRS and US GAAP.</li><li>Liaise with external auditors for timely completion of statutory audits.</li><li>Ensure timely submission of financial and non-financial information to local authorities.</li><li>Support preparation of tax returns and related accounting workflows.</li><li>Prepare UK Group VAT returns and manage associated accounting workflows.</li><li>Assist the UK & Bermuda Controller with mergers, acquisitions, and legal entity restructuring.</li><li>Support process improvement projects by identifying and implementing best practices.</li></ul><b>What We're Looking For: </b><br><br><b>Basic Qualifications:</b><ul><li>3 years' experience in an audit, finance or accounting role, preferably in Public Accounting, including a thorough understanding of IFRS and accounting standards generally accepted in the United States (US GAAP)</li><li> ACA / CA or equivalent certification </li><li>A udit practice background </li><li> Good understanding general tax accounting and local tax regimes </li><li> Experience of financial statement preparation under IFRS and US GAAP </li><li> Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent </li><li> Hybrid - 2 days a week in office </li></ul><ul></ul><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b><ul><li> Time management skills and the ability to prioritise </li><li>Strong problem-solving ability</li><li>Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills</li><li> Well organized and able to prioritize conflicting deadlines </li><li> Attention to detail </li><li> Strong desire to exceed expectations </li><li>Results orientated</li><li> Team player with good working relationships, strong team management and leadership qualities </li></ul><b> What's In It For </b> <b> You? </b><br><br><b> Our Mission: </b><br><br>Advancing Essential Intelligence. <br><br><b> Our People: </b><br><br>We're more than 35,000 strong worldwide-so we're able to understand nuances while having a broad perspective.
