From planning engaging activities and providing one-on-one support to accompanying young people on off-site trips, each day presents new challenges and opportunities. As a residential care worker, you’ll need to be adaptable, flexible, and skilled at reading situations to help guide young people towards making positive choices.</p><p>For this role, whilst experience is preferred it is not necessary – if you have a positive, can-do attitude and the passion to make a real, meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people then this is the perfect role for you!</p><p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p><ul><li>£30 per sleep in - averaging an additional £3600 per year on 10 sleep ins per month (full time).</li><li>A full two weeks of paid training before starting the role</li><li>Overtime rate of x1.25</li><li>NVQ Level 4 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce</li></ul><p><strong>Our Shift Patterns:</strong></p><ul><li>2 – 3 shifts per week on a full-time basis</li><li>Sleep ins are mandatory</li></ul><p><strong>Key responsibilities include:</strong></p><ul><li>Providing emotional support during challenging times</li><li>Fostering ambition in young people, assisting them in achieving their goals and maximising their potential</li><li>Offering support in the educational pursuits of young individuals</li><li>Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.</li><li>Empowering young people to actively participate in decision-making about their lives and future</li><li>Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion</li><li>Encouraging community engagement, attending off-site activities, and expanding their personal social networks</li><li>Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning shopping etc.) </li></ul><p><strong>New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
