Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner

Jackson Health System is seeking a per-diem Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for their Express Care Clinic in Miami Beach. This role involves providing a wide range of primary, acute, and specialty healthcare services, both autonomously and in collaboration with other professionals. The APRN will manage patient care, prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and educate patients on health-promoting lifestyle choices.

Responsibilities

  • Use clinical judgments in conducting health assessments, making differential diagnoses, and prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments
  • Implement plans through independent action, health counseling, and collaboration with other members of the health team
  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients clinical problems and health care needs
  • Record physical findings, and formulate plan and prognosis, based on patients condition
  • Prescribe or recommend medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
  • Refer patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records

Shift & Schedule

  • Per-Diem
  • 10:00AM - 10:00PM, weekly including rotating weekends
  • May work 12hr shifts and 6hour shifts including weekends as needed based on operational needs

Requirements

  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience
  • Prior APRN experience in urgent care/ED practice setting strongly preferred
  • Master's degree in Nursing is required
  • Valid Florida Advanced Practice RN license required
  • Valid APRN Board certification in specialty area required
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment
