We are searching for engineers that take pride in delivering quality products and are enthusiastic about technology and strive for the opportunity to learn and share their knowledge. You’ll help us build and scale systems that support the core Messaging and Media functionalities in a rapidly evolving market and to provide a trusted experience to our customers.</p> <p>In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, building, and optimizing our platform to support a wide range of messaging use-cases. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!</p> <p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in CS or related field or equivalent working experience.</li> <li>3+ years of related software development experience shipping multiple products / services.</li> <li>Proficiency in one or more programming languages including Java, Scala, C, C++ and advanced concepts like asynchronous programming, multi-threading etc. </li> <li>Experience in AWS cloud solutions, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD pipelines like Buildkite & containerization frameworks like Docker.</li> <li>Experience with asynchronous communication patterns like Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ etc</li> <li>Experience with relational and non-relational databases, SQL queries, query optimizations and ETL tools.</li> <li>Experience with Testing & Automation.</li> <li>Curiosity and interest in learning new programming languages and frameworks. </li> <li>Working in agile teams or startup environments with strong customer focus. Commitment for engineering practices that ensure safe and fast paced releases of services. </li> <li>Demonstrated organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, commitment for results, and excellent written and verbal communications.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired:</strong></p> <ul> <li>On-call experience debugging large scale distributed systems.</li> <li>Experience with Devops infrastructure, specifically IaC tools like Terraform and ArgoCD.</li> <li>A strong plus if you have prior experience with MMS/SMS/RCS messaging protocols.</li> <li>Experience designing and implementing large scale solutions.</li> <li>Experience working in distributed and concurrent systems.</li> <li>Proficiency in debugging production infrastructure and services.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location</strong></p> <p>This role will be remote,<em> </em>but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.</p> <p><strong>Travel </strong></p> <p>We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. Please note that hiring for this role is not restricted to the locations listed above."</em></p> <p>The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $116,960 - 146,200</li> <li>Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $123,760 - 154,700</li> <li>Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $137,520 - 171,900</li> <li>This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan.
