<h2><b>Career Category</b></h2>Sales<h2></h2><h2><b>Job Description</b></h2><p><b>Position Overview</b></p><p>The Rare Disease Account Liaison (RDAL) is a hybrid strategic field role responsible for <b>driving new patients by enabling end-to-end treatment pathways</b> in rare diseases.</p><p>Unlike traditional Sales Representatives or Key Account Managers, RDALs <b>drive patient access activation and treatment initiation</b>. By bridging across specialties, institutions, and access pathways, RDALs <b>convert clinical intent into actual treatment initiation</b> in complex rare disease environments.</p><p></p><p><b>Location</b></p><p>Remotely located in designated territory, with regular travel undertaken as required</p><p></p><p><b>Core Responsibilities and Deliverables</b></p><p><b>Patient Pathway Activation & Treatment Initiation</b></p><ul><li>Identify and activate eligible patients by addressing barriers across diagnosis, referral, and treatment journey</li><li>Implement account-specific plans to support timely treatment initiation in rare disease</li><li>Support optimization of patient flow by leveraging key patient journey touchpoints</li></ul><p><br><b>Multidisciplinary Engagement & Referral Network Development</b></p><ul><li>Build and maintain relationships with KOLs and cross-specialty stakeholders to shape the diagnosis and treatment environment</li><li>Support MDT collaboration and referral pathway development within accounts</li><li>Deliver tailored omnichannel engagement aligned with customer preferences</li></ul><p><br><b>Strategic Account Planning & Insight into Action</b></p><ul><li>Lead end-to-end account readiness including hospital protocol, account open, and infrastructure set-up</li><li>Facilitate patient access by navigating patient access processes especially during private-pay setting</li><li>Generate and apply insights into strategic actions to maximize opportunities within accounts</li></ul><p><br><b>Execution Excellence</b></p><ul><li>Execute engagement plans and activities with discipline across timelines, budget, and quality</li><li>Continuously evolving account strategies based on field insights and evolving market dynamics</li></ul><ul><li>Prioritize activities and resource aligned with business impact and patient value</li></ul><p><br><b>Performance & General</b></p><ul><li>Deliver sales and account target within assigned territory</li><li>Drive performance management through data-driven insights and continuous improvement</li><li>Demonstrate continuous learning, compliance adherence, and alignment with Amgen values</li><li>RDAL is eligible for SIP based on MAP achievement.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria, Desired Experience & Competencies</b></p><p><b><i>The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or equivalent:</i></b></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Advanced understanding of life sciences, biomedical/health sciences and/or business</li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead with strong compliance mindset within pharmaceutical industry standards</li></ul><p><br><b>Experience & Skills</b></p><ul><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry including sales rep, key account manager, Marketing or MSL role</li><li>Good understanding of disease area, patient journey, and access pathways to support identification of treatment barriers</li><li>Demonstrated ability to deliver results in complex or access-restricted environments (e.g., private-pay)</li><li>Experience applying omnichannel approaches to engage multi-specialty stakeholders</li><li>Ability to build and maintain trusted customer relationships and effective partnerships<b> </b></li></ul><p><br><b>Preferred</b></p><ul><li> TA Experience in Rare Disease, Autoimmune Disease, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology settings or High-cost specialty TAs</li><li><span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">  Experience</span> in MDT collaboration and inter-hospital network development </li><li>  1+ years of Marketing, Medical, KAM or business development experience in the biotechnology/ pharmaceutical  industry</li><li>  Proven competency demonstrated by achieving “Exceeds Expectations” ratings multiple times over the past three years as a Sales Representative.</li></ul><p><br><b>RDAL Competencies </b></p><p><b>Clinical Knowledge</b></p><ul><li>Applies strong clinical knowledge across TED diagnosis, AE management, and product adoption to support effective treatment decisions along the patient journey</li></ul><p><b>Cultivating Impactful Customer Relationships</b></p><ul><li>Builds strategic partnerships with multidisciplinary HCPs and supports development of inter-hospital networks to enable TED patient referral pathways</li></ul><p><b>Business Acumen & Strategic Account Planning</b></p><ul><li>Applies insights to develop and execute account strategies that address key barriers and support business and patient outcomes</li></ul><p><b>Execution Excellence</b></p><ul><li>Executes plans with discipline, demonstrating agility, collaboration, and ownership to deliver targeted outcomes</li></ul><p></p><p><b><i>The RDAL role is currently classified under the Sr Biopharmaceutical Rep job profile.
