CHART is a data-driven decision-support tool that enables local health systems to identify climate risks, assess vulnerabilities, and prioritize adaptation solutions, with an initial focus on maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH). Complementing this, CHIP focuses on strengthening health facility resilience through simulation-based assessments and low-cost retrofit solutions to address risks such as extreme heat and flooding. Together, CHART and CHIP integrate analytics, human-centered design, and infrastructure interventions to support evidence-based planning. PATH is also supporting the state government in advancing climate and health interventions through technical assistance, capacity building, and system strengthening efforts. The project engages stakeholders in India and Kenya to co-develop and test solutions. Building Phase 1 learnings, Phase 2 will focus on developing a functional digital platform (MVP), piloting interventions, and supporting scale-up through government systems.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>About the position</span></b></p><p><span>PATH is seeking a Program Associate for PATH’s Climate Health work in Madhya Pradesh. The Program Associate will work with the state, divisional, district officials to provide technical assistance and hand-holding support for the CHART, CHIP and state government.</span></p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li>Lead district-level implementation of CHART and CHIP by translating discovery-phase insights (heat and MNCH work in Gwalior) into actionable interventions and pilots.</li><li>Provide technical assistance and handholding support to district and state government officials for integrating climate and health considerations into planning and service delivery.</li><li>Coordinate with government departments, Technical Working Groups (TWGs), and partners to co-develop and operationalize climate-resilient health solutions.</li><li>Support data collection, validation, and analysis related to climate stressors, health outcomes, and facility-level vulnerabilities to inform CHART analytics and planning.</li><li>Facilitate vulnerability and experience assessments, ensuring integration of local knowledge and scientific evidence into adaptation planning.</li><li>Assist in testing and refining CHART prototypes, including predictive analytics, risk visualization tools, and solutions database.</li><li>Support implementation of CHIP interventions for climate-resilient health infrastructure, including facility assessments, simulations, and retrofit solution deployment.</li><li>Coordinate field activities including stakeholder consultations, FGDs, IDIs, and co-creation workshops to inform tool design and solution prioritization.</li><li>Contribute to development and testing of adaptation solutions, particularly for MNCH and primary healthcare systems.</li><li>Support monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of pilot interventions, including pre- and post-assessment of climate adaptation outcomes.</li><li>Facilitate capacity building of government stakeholders and frontline workers on climate-health tools, approaches, and solutions.</li><li>Assist in scaling efforts, including expansion to new geographies, stakeholder engagement, and development of implementation roadmaps.</li><li>Support knowledge management, reporting, and dissemination of learnings, best practices, and evidence for policy and program uptake.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Experience and qualifications</b></p><ul><li><span>Master’s Degree preferably in Climate Health/ Sustainable Development/ Environmental Engineering/ Environmental Planning/ Public Health or any other relevant field.</span></li><li><span>At least 3-5 years of experience in primary and secondary research, documentation, presentation, and working with the communities from the climate adaptation and resilience perspective.</span></li><li><span>Prior experience of working in Climate Health is strongly desired. </span></li><li><span>Technical knowledge and field experience in the areas mentioned above.</span></li><li><span>Familiarity with the Indian public health system, flagship initiatives in climate change, and human health.</span></li></ul><p><b>Skills/ Abilities</b></p><ul><li><span>Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and Hindi.</span></li><li><span>Data analysis, data visualization, and analytical thinking skills.</span></li><li><span>Strong coordination and documentation skills.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and partner organizations.</span></li><li><span>High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Secondary research to search relevant data & documents.</span></li><li><span>Ability to handle a variety of assignments under the pressure of deadlines.</span></li></ul><p><b>Note: </b><span>This position is funded till January 2027, employment after project period is subject to the availability of funds. </span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>
