Progressive Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Transcriptionist / Medical Coder to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports and assigning correct codes for diagnoses and procedures to support healthcare billing and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately transcribe audio recordings of physician notes, consultations, discharge summaries, and other medical reports.
Apply correct medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) based on documentation for billing and reporting purposes.
Review and verify patient data for completeness and accuracy.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards (HIPAA).
Communicate with healthcare professionals to clarify information or obtain additional details when necessary.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and industry best practices.
Meet daily productivity targets and quality assurance benchmarks.
Organize and maintain digital records and ensure timely submission of completed reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
