Medical Biller/Quality Auditor - Radiology Specialist

Job Summary:

Progressive Technology is seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller/Quality Auditor - Radiology Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of radiology billing practices, coding accuracy, and regulatory compliance. This dual-role position involves both medical billing and auditing responsibilities, ensuring precise and compliant processing of radiology claims. You will play a critical role in supporting our mission to deliver high-quality healthcare revenue cycle management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review and process radiology billing claims in accordance with payer guidelines and regulations.

  • Audit radiology reports, claims, and supporting documentation to ensure coding and billing accuracy.

  • Verify and analyze CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to ensure proper reimbursement and reduce denials.

  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and support correct billing.

  • Identify and report patterns or trends that may indicate revenue leakage or compliance issues.

  • Educate and guide internal billing teams on radiology coding updates and documentation requirements.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations.

  • Generate audit reports and provide recommendations for performance improvement and training.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certification in medical billing/coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent).

  • Deep understanding of radiology terminology, procedures, and documentation.

  • Strong knowledge of coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and billing software.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience, with at least 2 years specifically in radiology.

  • Previous experience in a quality auditing or compliance role is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with multiple payers, including Medicare and Medicaid, is a plus.

Working Hours:

  • Monday through Friday

  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible hours available upon discussion)

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

  • Remote work option available after successful onboarding

  • In-depth knowledge of radiology billing and reimbursement practices

  • Understanding of healthcare compliance and audit procedures
