We use electromagnetic, ultrasonic, and thermal imaging methods to ensure our engine components are safe for flight. The GE Aerospace Inspection Solutions (AIS) team is responsible for designing, developing, validating, and deploying ultrasonic, infrared, and eddy current NDT inspection techniques for metal and composite aircraft engine components. Must be able to train for up to a year in Sprindale, OH location.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h1><span class="emphasis-3"><b>Job Description</b></span></h1><p><b><u>Roles and Responsibilities</u></b></p><ul><li>Willingness to travel up to 50%</li><li>Must be able to train for up to a year in Sprindale, OH location.</li><li>Provide technical support to inspection facilities performing Ultrasonic Testing (UT)</li><li>Create quality planning documentation for immersion UT systems</li><li>Review and approve UT tech plans authored by others</li><li>Train and test UT Level 1 and Level 2 inspectors per NAS410</li><li>Be responsible for surveillance of UT personnel certifications</li><li>Coordinate and provide expert input on NDT MRB activities</li><li>Perform internal and external site assessments through process audits</li><li>Drive root cause and corrective actions leading to prompt resolution of audit findings</li><li>Maintain processes and equipment needed to support next generation inspections</li><li>Work closely with Sourcing, Quality, Design, and Manufacturing Engineering organizations to solve problems and meet business commitments</li><li>Support additional complementary and supplementary NDT methods as driven by needs of the business</li><li>Contribute toward development of phased array UT next generation inspections</li><li>Technical writing of standards, specifications and UT process documents</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Minimum Required Qualifications</u></b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in NAS-410 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level 3 Certification, with documented certification records)</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in NAS-410 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level 3 Certification, with documented certification records</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Desired Characteristics & Experiences </u></b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline; or Technical Associates Degree in NDT</li><li>Significant experience with an additional NDT method</li><li>Extensive NDT application skills  with experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment</li><li>Strong technical aptitude, including experience with modeling software</li><li>Ability to interpret engineering part drawings</li><li>Lean mindset</li><li>Capable of working effectively within a team environment</li><li>Able to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills</li><li>Strong interpersonal and leadership skills</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Pay and Benefits:</b></p><ul><li><span>The salary range for this position is $</span> <span>95,000.00 - 127,000.00</span> <span>. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
