Warehouse Inventory Manager - Houston, TX

 

The Inventory Manager is responsible for inventory control in the warehouse.  This requires them to be an expert on warehouse processes and establish strong audit processes to ensure that they inventory system and the physical inventory match. They will also be responsible for the gate check in and check out operation, rework operation, and the shipping and receiving team. An integral role will include specific responsibility for site wide activities. As a manager they will be responsible for administrative duties such as performance management, communication meetings and Continuous Improvement. The inventory manager will be accountable for meeting and exceeding the productivity, efficiency, service, cost, quality, safety, health, environmental and morale goals established for the site.

Schedule
  • Monday - Friday
  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed
  • 3:00AM until finished

 Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term operations strategies for warehouse operations and inventory management to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate overall performance.
  • Lead and support a team of supervisors and staff, providing guidance, training, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing workforce.
  • Manage budgetary and resource allocation decisions to ensure efficient warehouse operations, optimize inventory levels and minimizing costs.
  • Identify and address potential risks, including inventory shortages, overages, and disruptions, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make informed decisions for inventory optimization and warehouse efficiency.
  • Manage activities related to inventory control and gate operations.
  • Develop effective solutions that align with the needs of the Delivery and Sales groups.
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with Sales and Manufacturing teams.
  • Oversee Warehouse Inventory control processes to ensure accurate accounting in the inventory system.
  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the team to consistently achieve KPIs.
  • Assess employee relations and communication methods to align with the company’s philosophy.
  • Design and implement operational strategies to optimize warehouse processes.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement initiatives in Sales Distribution Operations, covering processes, methods, and materials changes to support operational goals.
  • Ensure proper execution and implementation of policies and procedures for inventory management.
  • Train and evaluate warehouse staff on effective inventory techniques and daily tasks.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels of full goods to meet daily sales needs.
  • Conduct physical counts of inventory and reconcile floor counts and inventory shipments.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety codes, Company policies, and procedures, as well as standards established by OSHA, FDA, and DOT, including Driver Fitness scores, DVIR, and Driver Logs.

Total Rewards:
  • $86,000 - $100,000 / year
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • 3+ years of operational compliance, audit experience, DSD Warehouse environment or years of related business experience
  • Experience working in all environments, including manufacturing plants and distribution centers.
  • Experience with SAP (database management), MS Office, and other reporting tools
  • Travel Required
