POSITION SUMMARY

Servers at Don Julio Restaurant Group are ambassadors of authentic Mexican hospitality and the heart of the guest experience. In this role, you are not only responsible for delivering exceptional table service, but also for embodying the culture, values, and standards of the Don Julio brand. You represent a tradition of warmth, pride, and excellence rooted in our heritage. Servers must embrace our “Culture of Yes,” which means maintaining a can-do attitude, being team-oriented, and prioritizing the guest experience with every interaction. This position requires a proactive mindset, deep knowledge of our menu, and the ability to help guests feel like family from the moment they sit down.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet guests warmly, treating each table as an opportunity to share the Don Julio experience.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately, offering culturally relevant recommendations and upselling where appropriate.
  • Deliver all items promptly and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
  • Guide guests through our menu, sharing knowledge of authentic Mexican dishes and specialty drinks.
  • Foster a joyful, celebratory atmosphere that honors the traditions and values of Don Julio.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service.
  • Maintain clean, well-organized sections and complete all opening/closing duties.
  • Promote special events and brand celebrations (Cinco de Mayo, Día de Muertos, etc.) and help create immersive experiences.
  • Adhere to company service standards, safety rules, and appearance policies at all times.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall operations and team success.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
  • Must be 18 years or older (per Florida labor law).
  • Prior serving experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.
  • Knowledge of POS systems (e.g., Toast, Aloha) and proper payment handling.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and team-driven mindset aligned with our Culture of Yes.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for sharing Mexican cuisine, traditions, and guest hospitality.
  • Must complete required safety training (e.g., SafeStaff) and uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Adherence to Don Julio’s uniform and grooming standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  
This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Carry trays and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Bend, reach, stoop, and perform tasks requiring physical mobility.
  • Visually identify orders and guests, and communicate clearly in a busy setting.
