Director, AEO - SEO

There are NO limits to your career: come shape the future and be part of a truly unique global culture at OutSystems!

About Us At OutSystems, we are building the agentic future. We are an AI development platform that is unified, agile, and enterprise-proven. We are enabling our customers to build AI-powered apps and agentic systems that they can trust in production, because they already have their full enterprise context running on OutSystems. We provide the fastest, safest, and most flexible way to build and continuously improve custom agentic applications through the full development lifecycle.

Search is evolving rapidly, and today, individuals and CIOs are using AI engines, conversational interfaces, and LLM-powered tools to discover solutions. We are seeking a strategic Director of SEO & AI Discoverability to lead the evolution of our search strategy from traditional keyword-centric SEO to AI-native Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

You will own how OutSystems shows up when enterprise leaders ask LLMs, "What are my best options that are enterprise secure and proven?". In this role, you will help us navigate our crucial FY26 migration from Sitecore XM to Webflow, ensuring our technical foundation is flawless, while leading a high-impact strategy to capture maximum visibility and citations in AI Overviews and LLM search results.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Define and Own Our AEO/GEO/SEO Strategy: Develop and champion a multi-year global strategy that maximizes traffic and conversions across traditional SEO and emerging Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) landscapes.

  • Dominate AI Overviews & LLMs: Develop and execute strategies to maximize inclusion in Google AI Overviews and secure citations as a primary "source of truth" in AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.

  • Off-Site Property Authority: Own our visibility across the platforms that feed LLM training signals. You will optimize off-site properties like Wikipedia, Reddit, G2, LinkedIn, YouTube, and AWS Marketplace. You will ensure our messaging transitions from our low-code history to an "AI-powered application platform" , recognizing that platforms like Reddit are cited in 21-22% of all AI answers.

  • Technical SEO & Platform Migration: Lead the organic search strategy for our Q1/Q2 migration to Webflow. You will provide guidance on technical governance, site-wide crawl efficiency, structured data (JSON-LD), and complex indexation troubleshooting.

  • Cross-Functional Evangelization: Act as a strategic consultant for our Brand, Product Marketing, Corporate Communications, DevRel, and Community teams. You will help them understand how their work feeds the LLM training signal and compounds over time.

  • Next-Generation Measurement: Build and own a measurement framework with organic customers as the north star. You will track new success metrics beyond clicks, including "Share of Model," citation triggers, and AI referral traffic.

Director, SEO: $182,750 - $222,525 Base Salary

Salary Determination: Our salary range is based on industry standards, company performance, and market conditions. We offer competitive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent.

In determining salary ranges, we consider factors such as:

Market Research: Industry reports, salary surveys, and online salary databases
Company Performance: Financial performance, revenue growth, and budget allocation
Job Requirements: Skills, experience, and qualifications necessary for the role
Geographic Location: Cost of living, market conditions, and industry standards in our region

What We're Looking For

  • Proven SEO Leadership: 7-10 years of building and scaling organic growth programs at B2B companies, with real command across content architecture, entity authority, technical SEO, and structured data.

  • AEO & GEO Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and a deep understanding of how LLMs retrieve, "chunk," and cite content. You've been tracking citations and testing how content structure affects LLM outputs.

  • Technical SEO Mastery: Expert knowledge of technical SEO (Schema, JSON-LD, site architecture) and proficiency with enterprise tools. Experience managing website migrations is highly preferred.

  • Data & AI Tooling: Experience with AI visibility tracking tools such as Profound, Brand Radar, or similar platforms used to measure brand presence across answer engines. Expected experience with standard SEO tools such as SEMRush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics

  • Cross-Functional Instincts: You have driven alignment with content, brand, product, and engineering teams, and you understand intuitively that everything the company does feeds organic visibility.
