At Citi, you'll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact. <br><br><b>Job Overview</b><br /> Commodities are looking to hire a Senior Director, focused on developing metals structured solutions and originating trade opportunities, working closely with client coverage teams (sales, banking). The aim of the role is to build on Citi's extensive capabilities in the metals and bulks, both in financial derivatives and physical, to expand the business into new areas that Citi may not have systematically pursued in the past. An example of key focus area is the development of physical non-debt financing solutions. <br><br>The role is a technical but also fundamentally commercial, revenue-generating one. It is focused on developing new capabilities in a scalable way, tapping into exciting new growth areas, and delivering significant revenues. The role involves understanding complex structures and client issues, e.g. funding, tax, accounting, capital treatment, derivatives, in order to develop tailored structured solutions and work through trade execution with sales, bankers and structuring teams. <br><br><b>Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Work with senior bankers / sales people to map potential target clients for structured metals financing and other solutions-based opportunities</li><li>Think beyond existing product offering to imagine new solutions to supplement our offering to clients, including mechanisms for optimizing funding, capital treatment or risk syndication</li><li>Put together client-friendly marketing presentations for such solutions</li><li>Lead strategic pitches of structured solutions to senior clients, in conjunction with banking / sales. As it is a solutions role, discussions often involve needing to adapt to new information from a client and proposing alternative structures "live" during the discussion</li><li>Respond to client requests for e.g. pricing of such trades, working closely with Structuring and Trading as required</li><li>Build internal consensus for new solutions requiring significant resource (e.g. Structuring, Trading, Legal, IT, Logistics) and focus on deliverability and scalability of such solutions</li><li>Work in close partnership with Structuring, and control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance, in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure</li><li>Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.</li><li>Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for the role, within an appropriate timeframe</li></ul><b> Recommended Experience / Skills: </b><ul><li>10-15+ years experience from a financial institution in a solutions/origination or structuring role in Commodities, ideally in Metals</li><li>Experience of developing new activities or building out new types of business, as well as track record of innovation and ability to think beyond existing solutions</li><li>Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills</li><li>Demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to work with multi-functional groups in a cooperative manner</li><li>Influencing skills - a key part of the role is engaging key bankers / senior sales people on non-BAU topics in order to grow the franchise, as well as interfacing with clients and ultimately working with structuring / trading and control functions to deliver client solution</li><li>Client-facing experience - required in order to be credible and effective, as well as a track record of innovation and gravitas.
